NDDC Forensic Audit: Dr. Victoria Enape Commends Buhari's Anti-corruption fight

ABUJA- As part of efforts to support the anti-corruption fight of this present administration, and the media agog that  President Mohammadu Buhari has ordered for a forensic Investigation and auditing of all the activities of the Niger-Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for the period between 2001 and 2019, the Pro-tem President,  Chartered Institute of Forensic Professionals of Nigeria ( CIFIPN), Dr. Mrs Victoria Enape Ayishetu has enjoined the President to give Presidential assent  to the 2019 Establishment Bill of the Forensic Institute as passed by the National Assembly that is currently lying at his desk.

This was made available to Newsmen today in a press release as signed by the  Pro-tem President of the Institute, Dr. Mrs Victoria Enape from CIFIPN Secretariat in Nigeria's Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Dr. Enape stated that the idea from the Presidency on Forensic Audit of NDDC is a welcome development,  that Nigeria is in dire need of a Regulatory Body like the Chartered Institute of Forensic And Investigative Professionals of Nigeria (CIFIPN), adding that the use of technology will be all embracing towards positive results in  forensic investigation, auditing and cybercrimes in the country.

She commended the President's sincerity of purpose in the fight against corruption in the Country and urged him to use competent hands, experts, qualified  Professionals from the Institute (CIFIPN) who are Nigerians.

CIFIPN Leadership  noted that her Certified  members from the Institute  are eminently qualified to send proposals and handle the jobs of forensics and Investigations in Nigeria, adding that the move will no doubt, encourage the use of professionals with sound understanding of the terrain and local content rather than involving expatriates in the job of forensics and investigations.

The Leadership of the Institute restated it's  commitment to the business of forensic practice and education in Nigeria. CIFIPN then urged President Buhari    to resist and disregard the temptation of some few individuals who constitute themselves as enemies of the State.
The Institute while reaffirming it's confidence on the President doing the needful for the full existence of CIFIPN, added that its Leadership will support every of the Federal Government policies towards making the Institute a Regulatory Body in Nigeria.
