ASABA-The Delta State Chairman,  Allied People's Movement (APM), Prince Henry J. E Eze (JP) has rejected the bye - election timetable released by the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC) stated that the purported political arrangements by the Commission on the proposed bye- election is not favourable to the opposition political parties in the State.

Delta APM Chairman, Prince Henry Eze disclosed this while Addressing  newsmen in Asaba, Delta State capital, stated  that since October 2018 that DSIEC conducted Local Government Election in Delta state the Commission has not deem it fit to have an interactive section with Political Parties, at least to review the outings of the last LGA election.

He maintained that they were all shocked and embarrassed as DSIEC ambushed the Political Parties on Friday 7th March 2020 by releasing a timetable mandating all political parties to conduct their primaries on 9th of March 2020 against bye election of April 4th 2020.

Prince Eze further  noted that,  the four wards for the proposed bye- election in the following Local Government Areas of the State which included: Isoko North, Okpe, Sapele and Ndokwa East have been vacant for over a year now then wondered why DSIEC just woke up and gave political parties less than 3 weeks to conduct the bye- election.

The APM Delta Boss who doubles as the Delta State Secretary of Inter- Party Advisory Council (IPAC) frowns at this ugly developments and advises DSIEC to review their "MARATHON RACE" timetable to avoid heating up the polity.

On the guidelines released by DSIEC, Prince Eze pointed out that there is nowhere in Nigeria Constitution that Tax Clearance is a prerequisite for contesting any election in Nigeria and wondered why DSIEC is bent on using every avenue and bogus requirements to witch- hunt other political parties. He further called for the abolishment of any kind of fees as DSIEC is demanding thirty- thousand  naira only (#30,000.00) from all councillorship aspirants  before you can be cleared as a candidate.

He further warns that APM Delta State will not hesitate to drag DSIEC to Court if they go ahead with tax clearance and levying of Aspirants.
