Covid-19 Palliatives: Barr. Festus Ofume Donates Hundred Bags Of Rice And Beans To Alihame Community, Ika-South Local Government Area, Delta State.

ALIHAME COMMUNITY- DELTA STATE- Barr Festus Ofume, LL. B, LL.M, CBA, an illustrious son of Alihame Community in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, donated hundred bags of Rice and Beans to his Community to cushion the effects of the global pandemic COVID-19.

Barr. Festus Ofume in a brief ceremony held at the Alihame Town Hall, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State as  witnessed by our reporter and other media Organizations in the state and beyond gave out hundred bags of rice and beans as palliatives  to cushion the effects of Covid-19 pandemic in the locality.


The  Elders, Youths and Women representatives, were on ground to have a share of the palliatives,  Hon Fred Ofume, who presented the items on behalf of the donor and the Isaac Jombo Ofume Foundation; he praised the Community representatives for coming to partake in the sharing of the food items in spite of the short notice.

He encouraged them to always maintain good hygiene (regular washing of hands), wearing of nose mask, cleaning their hands with alcohol based sanitizers and observing of social distancing.

He equally stressed that the donor, Barr Festus Ofume, made the donations from his free will without any political consideration and that during the sharing, the vulnerable ones (widows, elderly and the disables) among them should be considered first before others.

Responding on behalf of the Alihame Community, Elder Ogboi Thomas, prayed for God’s blessings and favour upon the lives of Barr Festus Ofume, who also dubbed as the Delta state Chairman of Young Democratic Party (YDP). He described the donor as a true son of his father who always put the interest of the Community over his own and encouraged other members of the Community to emulate this kind gesture.

Those at the event includes the Alihame Elder’s in Council, Youth leaders, Barr’s Ndidi Ofume, Fred Ofume, Jude Onyemekaihian (PhD), Fidelis Aghagbon, Festus Ichaza, Augustine Ekamagule among others.
