Day-3 Lockdown: Okowa's SA Commends Elumelu, House Of Reps On Improved Power Supply

ASABA- As Part of efforts towards  ensuring that Nigerians enjoy improved power supply (electricity) in  the on- going two weeks  lockdown as a result of the global outbreaks of Covid-19 Pandemic,  the Leadership of the House of Representatives led by the Speaker, Rt Hon.  Femi Gbajabiamila alongside the Minority Leader, Rt. Hon Ndudi Elumelu, Deputy Minority Whip, Rt. Hon. Adesegun Adekoya and others recently  held an emergency meeting with the Hon. Minister of Power, Sale Mamman with a composition of the Minister of Finance, CBN Governor, NNPC GMD, and other critical electricity distribution stakeholders, where the House Leadership was assured of improved power supply to Nigerians.
The Special Assistant SA to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Community Development, Comrade Chris Osamor has Commended the gesture of the Leadership of the House of Representatives led by the Speaker,  Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, the Minority Leader, Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Ndudi Elumelu, and other important principal members of the House while addressing Newsmen today in Asaba, Delta State Capital, he applauded the move made by the House Leadership.

He noted further that the House Leadership had listen to the groanings of Nigerians on poor Power supply, especially at this period of global Covid-19 Pandemic lockdown, which Nigeria is not an exemption.

The Governor's aide stated that after the emergency meeting,  visit of the Leadership of the House of Representatives with the Minister of Power, that he  assured the lawmakers of palliative measures on poor power supply that the positive effects of the Sale Mamman's promised is at the moment, Day-3 Covid-19 lockdown being felt in all the Communities in Delta State as electricity supply is now improved,  unlike before as solutions to make the Stay at home order more comfortable to Nigerians.

Comrade Chris Osamor noted that it will be a good development, records  in Nigeria's power sector if the Minister of Power, NERC, GENTOs, DISCOs  a d other Electricity Stakeholders could sustain the gesture even after the expiration of the lockdown for Sustainable Community Development in Nigeria.

He then stated  the pressure mounted by the House of Reps on the  electricity Regulatory  stakeholders has yielded results, that Delta State, particularly the capital City, Asaba, Warri and other major cities in the state where isolation centres, hospitas are built for the sake of testing and providing treatment to Coronavirus pandemic patients, just like other States in Nigeria can now have improved power supply to cushion the effect s of this present predicaments.

While Commending the Speaker of House of Representatives, also thanked the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, and Member Representing Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, Rt. Honorable Ndudi Elumelu on support to the actualization of this feats in Nigeria on the impact of the improved Electricity supply A the on-going lockdown.
