ASABA- The Chairman, African Democratic Congress, Delta State Chapter, Prince Joe Chukwu has said that Delta State Government goofed by not fulfilling his promises of distributing the already made Food Bank as  palliatives to Vulnerable Deltans as speculated in the media.

Delta ADC in a press Statement made available to Newsmen in Asaba, Delta State Capital faulted the exercise, stated that no members of  opposition political parties were  included in the Committee to testify on the exercise.

Prince Joe Chukwu in the press Statement said that Vulnerable Deltans can no longer survive the hungervirus that is currently ravaging them as the palliatives according to him was hijacked by the composition of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State who are  Members of the Committee  without any  representatives  of opposition Political Parties in the State.

The Party leader who no doubt is currently in the spirit  the voice of opposition parties in Delta State advised the Governor to relax the proposed extension on the Covid-19 Lockdown, and that Delta State Government should not make any attempt of extending it till May 2nd as planned so as to enable Deltans  to go out and look for what they will eat, that if at all any Vulnerable Deltans benefitted from the palliatives,  that the grain of salts, cups of rice and beans shared will not be enough to sustain them for another one week.

Prince Joe Chukwu noted that Coronavirus pandemic is not a new disease to a traditional African man who has seen it all in terms of health hazards and other known and unknown forces attributed to Black skin, he added that God has helped Nigeria to survive other global pandemic such as Ebola, lasser fever, Bird Flu, and other diseases without resorting to unnecessary rancor and pandemonium capable leading Deltans to the most dangerous disease such as hungervirus, Poverty, lack of savings and Investments, Economic depression, unemployment and joblessness.

The leading voice of opposition also stated that Delta politicians goofed by not taking care of their Constituencies at  this trying times, while Commending some  National Assembly Members, who he said by his findings did their best such as Member Representing Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon Ndudi Elumelu, Member Representing Ika Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Victor Nwokolo, and Member Representing Warri Federal Constituency.

Delta ADC, The leading Voice of opposition political parties then appealed to to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to relax the Lockdown by 28th April, 2020 without more extension till May 2nd to prevent the tendency of plunging, exposing  the Vulnerable Deltans into hungervirus, Crime and other societal menace noted that Deltans, Nigerians has conquered the pandemic Coronavirus, he  also stated  that the said virus that was brought to the country by the elites in Nigeria has both traditional and modern cure since 1980s.

The media reports that the palliatives that came to some vulnerable Deltans in some part of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, precisely the Local Government Headquarters at Ozoro  where a woman alleged that she was given two cups of rice and two cups of beans as palliatives was debunked by the Executive Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Communication and Orientation, Latimore Esquire where he stated that the said palliatives was not from Delta State Government.

To this end, on the claims of opposition political parties as stated  by the State Chairman of African Democratic Congress, Prince Joe Chukwu that Vulnerable Deltans were not captured by his personal Investigations,  that PDP hijacked the distribution without opposition political parties as Representatives in the Committee to ascertain the level of transparency and accountability in the exercise as watchdogs.

Shocknaija News online press went further to probe the statement of Delta ADC Boss, in a press statement released by the current Chairman of all Political Parties Chairmen in Delta State in one of the online news  platform in the state,  Delta State Chairman, Inter-party Advisory Council (IPAC), who also doubled as the State Chairman of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Hon. Afam Enemokwu faulted the Delta State Government palliatives Distribution exercise.

Delta IPAC Boss in the Press Statement frowned at the composition of the Committee which according to him, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa did not work with his advice to include all interest groups in the Committee, also that no opposition Political Parties in the state made it to testify on the veracity of the exercise, especially the question whether  the palliatives get to vulnerable Deltans or not.

Our reporter put up a telephone call to the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Inter-Party Relations Comrade  Pastor David Ashikodi Stated that the the fact that opposition political parties were not carried along is true but the palliatives issue is not a  political parties affairs, that PDP were not also included in the picture in the Committee composition.
