Governor Okowa's Five Years Anniversary: Vocational And Technical Education Sector, Another Unprecedented Areas Of Greatest Achievements Of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa- Prince Obaro Unuafe, SSA Communication And Orientation.

SSA to the Governor On Communication And Orientation, Prince Obaro  Unuafe has said that for the past  five years  that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has performed excellently well in governance, especially in the area of vocational and Technical Education sector in the State.

The Governor's aide disclosed this to some group of Journalists in his office at Asaba, Delta State capital Stated that it is necessary to situate some areas where he has become a Visionary Leader.

Prince Obaro Unuafe noted that in the  area of Technical/Vocational Education that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has shouldered the burden of effecting a paradigm shift from conventional education to technical/vocational education.

In his words: "Dr Okowa has thus rehabilitated and fully equipped six technical colleges at Otor Ogor, Sapele Ofagbe, Agbor, Utagba Ogbe and Issele Uku while the construction of ten others are currently on going. It is the Vision of Dr Okowa that by the time he leaves office in 2023  Delta State would have had 25 technical colleges-one per Local Government".

"Dr Okowa has juxtaposed all that by establishing and maintaining several vocational and skills acquisition centres all over the state".

"From here he aims to create a pool of entrepreneurs that would drive the economy of the State in no distant time.It is to be noted that the curriculum of Technical/Vocation centres also creates room for those who aim to continue their education in Polytechnics and Universities".

Speaking further, the SSA Communication And Orientation added that the efficacy of training in these Vocational centres can be gleaned from the fact that some of its students have started producing solar panels for the energy sector, also that in a National competition recently organized for Technical colleges in the country Delta State came third and this is no mean feat.

Prince Obaro also  applauded and acknowledged the efforts of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for ensuring that his approach at Technical/Vocational Education is tailored after specific environmental needs, given  instances with the happenings in the riverine areas, while adding that the  concentration on  impactful skills, which he said is related to oil and ancillary industries is to ensure their trainees are easily absorbed into these industries upon graduation.

"In the upland they are also taught skills relevant to theiry environmental needs. Suffice it to say that in the field of Technical/Vocational education,Dr Okowa has spearheaded a revolution", he stated vehemently.
