Covid-19 Medicine: UNESCO Laureate Professor Sir Bashiru Aremu Commends The Efforts Of Dr. Oladipo Kolawole And Others On Discovery, Tasked The Nigerian Government To Support Initiative.

UNESCO Laureate, World Acclaimed Distinguished Professor of Information Communication Technology ICT Professor Sir Bashiru Aremu has Commended the efforts of Dr. Oladipo Kolawole and his team on their great breakthrough and achievements as the Nigerian Scientists Unveil COVID-19 Vaccine as highly publicized in the
Leadership Newspaper of Jun 20, 2020.
UNESCO Laureate disclosed this to our reporter today in a press Statement made available to Newsmen by Professor Sir Bashiru Aremu through his Special Assistant On Media and Publicity, Sir Bieni Victor Emenike rejoiced with the Scientists in Nigerian universities under the aegis of COVID-19 Research Group announced the discovery of a vaccine for the prevention of COVID-19.
UNESCO Laureate Prof Sir Bashiru appreciate the effort of the Dr Oladipo Kolawole, leader of the team, and others for their hard-work, scientific research that led to the discovery of the Coronavirus vaccine was being developing a locally made in Africa Vaccine for Africans.
He said: " Dr. Kolawole achievement is a challenge for other professors, especially experts in his field to become research Professors other than only teaching Professors
The press Statement reads in parts: "Dr Kolawole specialist in Medical Virology, Immunology and Bioinformatics at Adeleke University has been proven to the world that the vaccine would also work for other continent as well when unveiled".
"I also appreciate the support and initial funding by the Trinity Immunodeficient Laboratory and Helix Biogen Consult, Ogbomosho, to the tune of about N7.8 million for assistant to the experts in their research".
"I commend the efforts of Dr Kolawole for him to said the group had been working extensively by exploring the SARS-CoV-2 genome from African countries to select the best possible potential vaccine candidates".
“Personally am very happy that a vaccine that will provide solution to a global problem like Coronavirus pandemic is coming from Nigerian experts in that particular field of study".
“It is a great challenge for our Government in Nigeria to be a solution provider to such a global pandemic as giant of Africa. The Federal Government of Nigeria was supposed to be ready and throw its weights behind the team and make the vaccine a reality”, UNESCO Laureate Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu Stated.

Prof. This is a cheering development. We hope our government will give this vaccine an opportunity for an honest trial and subsequent use, if found efficacious, safe with minimal side effects.
