IPAC 14 Days Grace: SSA Inter-Party Relations To Governor Ifeanyi Okowa Says Political Parties In Delta State Is Poised To Conduct Peaceful Election

ASABA- The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State on Inter-Party Relations, Hon. Chief Efe Tobor Josaiah has said that political parties in Delta State is poised to maintain peaceful co- existence in the electioneering processes of constituting the interim State Executives of the recently dissolved Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) Nation-wide.

Hon. Efe Tobor Josaiah, SSA Inter-Party Relations made this assertion yesterday soon after the meeting of all Political Parties Chairmen in Delta State while he sued for peace amongst them then stated that the planned IPAC interim Committee to be set up in Delta just like other 36 States and FCT as IPAC Nation-wide, that the conducts of the election in Delta State will be peaceful void of rancor, or political disharmony.

However to this effect, the Chief Senior Political Adviser to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Rt. Hon Funkekeme Solomon has in the meeting sought to know those parties that survived deregistration by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) so as to know the best Approaches towards partnership with them for Sustainable political development in the state.

Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon while commending Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for the appointment given to some of the Political parties Chairmen in the state , and other tangible support he had given to some of them individually to ensure a good working relationship, partnership with the Leadership of IPAC in the state urged them to create programs as Government is ready to support them towards Socio-political development in the state.

To this end, one of the political parties Chairmen Present Including the Chairman of Accord Party that attended the meeting has harped on the need for Government Support as the group will create programs of activities for Sustainable partnership with the Delta State Government as opposition political parties.

SPOLAD to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State was asked in that meeting to help the group and transmit same to Governor Okowa as the Chief Senior Political Adviser to Delta State Governor sought to know the Surviving political parties in the state after deregistration, then used the opportunity to urge all political parties Chairmen in the state to conduct themselves very well as exemplary leaders and ensure that they have offices where one can easily contact them.

To this end, the deregistration of 74 political parties in Nigeria left only 18 in the Surviving list, no doubt, our reporter observed that not less than 14 political parties were Present attended the meeting with the SPOLAD as he sought to know some of the challenges the Delta IPAC faced at the moment so as to support the group towards ensuring curative measures.

Rt. Hon Funkekeme Solomon advised them on the need to take the leadership of their political parties in the state as a serious business, he added that Government will soon or later embark on Investigating some of them to know their structural authenticity if actually the they are up to the real definition of political party that tends to struggle for political power in order to promote their ideologies and control governance.

Hon. Chief Efe Tobor who doubled as the Director of Operations, Directorate of Inter-party Relations to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa then Admonished all the political parties in Delta State to conduct themselves peacefully as the interim Executives Committee will be done with political consensus, with a show of an atmosphere void of crises rather oneness of purpose.
