Delta State Commissioner For Justice And Attorney General, Barr. Peter Mrakpor has said that his office will Collaborate with the Leadership of African Women In Leadership Organization (AWLO), Delta State Chapter towards the Promotion of UN 17 SDGs, boost to leadership skills, mentorship and gender mainstreaming for nation building and Women Development in the state.
Barr. Peter Mrakpor made this disclosure when the State Executives of both the Women and Youth Wing of African Women In Leadership Organization (AWLO), Delta State chapter paid him a courtesy call in his office yesterday being 20th of August, 2020.
Barr. Peter Mrakpor while pledging partnership with the Leadership of Delta AWLO group thanked the members for the visit and their Committment to the Organization's aims and objectives towards the fulfilment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and Agenda 2030 on Gender mainstreaming and Women Development for Sustainable Socio-economic development in the state.

The Executive Leaders of AWLO, Delta State- jointly led by the Vice President, Women wing, and Youths Wing Coordinator led by the duo of Mrs Tonia Benjamin, and Ambassador Vida Modelo in an interview with our reporter soon after the meeting of the group stated that the outing was indeed a great session with great leaders in Delta State as the African Woman In Leadership Organization (AWLO) is shouldered with the Responsibility of bring the young women of their state together to guide them on the path of leadership.

According to them, Women are not meant for the kitchen or bedroom alone, we can be responsible, respectful, good wives, caring mothers, home maker, supportive, Powerful and Great Leaders of Substance, Impact and Worth.

Speaking further, the Leadership enlightened the public on what AWLO is all about: "The African Women in Leadership Organisation (AWLO) is a non-profit organisation with a membership of women leaders from all walks of life across the African continent. AWLO envisions a continent in which women take their rightful place as home and nation builders with equal opportunities and equal access in all areas of existence, the organisation works with African nations and Global partners", United Nations.


" AWLO is shouldered with the Responsibilities of promoting advocacy at the highest level to influence change and women’s leadership in local and regional communities
- Scholarships to promote leadership and equality for women and the girl child in the continent".

"Also nitiating and encouraging mentoring programmes at all levels
- Education and ICT awareness programmes for women towards unleashing their leadership potential.
- Support and advocacy in all areas that promote financial independence and empowerment for women".

" AWLO is also charged with the responsibilities of providing services and and organizing volunteerism programmes by utilising the expertise of the membership to support grassroots leadership initiatives across the continent".
