Women Economic Empowerment: Delta State Commissioner For Economic Planning, Chief Barry Pere Gbe Pledges Partnership With African Women In Leadership Organization(AWLO), Delta State Chapter On Nation Building



.......As Delta Women Wing Vice President, Mrs Tonia Benjamin, And Delta Youth Chapter Coordinator, Ambassador Vida Modelo Visits Stakeholders Stated that Women Are Not Only Meant For Bedroom And Kitchen.

Delta State Commissioner For Economic Planning, Chief Barry Pere Gbe has said that his office will Collaborate with the Leadership of African Women In Leadership Organization (AWLO), Delta State Chapter towards the Promotion of UN 17 SDGs, boost to nation building and Women Economic Empowerment and Development in the state.


Chief Barry Pere Gbe stated this when the State Executives of both the Women and Youth Wing of African Women In Leadership Organization (AWLO), Delta State chapter paid him a courtesy call in his office yesterday being 20th of August, 2020.

Chief Pere Gbe  while pledging partnership with the group use the opportunity to appreciate the roles  Youths and Women in the Promotion of economic growth and development of the country, particularly Delta State, he also thanked the Leadership of AWLO and the entire members of the group for the visit which he said is aimed at promoting sustainable development and women Economic empowerment in the state.

Our reporter learnt that the Executive Leaders of AWLO, Delta State- jointly led by the Vice President, Women wing, and Youths Wing Coordinator led by the duo of Mrs Tonia Benjamin, and Ambassador Vida Modelo.

AWLO Leadership, Delta State chapter stated that it was indeed a great session with great leaders in Delta State as the African Woman In Leadership Organization (AWLO) is shouldered with the Responsibility of bring the young women of their state together to guide them on the path of leadership.

According to them, Women are not meant for the kitchen or bedroom alone, we can be responsible, respectful, good wives, caring mothers, home maker, supportive, Powerful and Great Leaders of Substance, Impact and Worth.

In the Words of the Delta AWLO: "The African Women in Leadership Organisation (AWLO) is a non-profit organisation with a membership of women leaders from all walks of life across the African continent".

" AWLO envisions a continent in which women take their rightful place as home and nation builders with equal opportunities and equal access in all areas of existence, the organisation works with African nations and Global partners", United Nations".

" AWLO is also charged with the responsibilities of providing services and and organizing volunteerism programmes by utilising the expertise of the membership to support grassroots leadership initiatives across the continent".
