Covid-19 Protocols: IPDS Apologizes To Ibori Over Hosting Postponement

.....Mulade Says Ex-Delta Governor To Be Informed On New Hosting Date soon.

The Convener, Ijaw People in Delta State (IPDS), and National Coordinator, Centre For Peace And Environmental Justice (CEPEJ), Comrade Chief Sherrif Mulade has apologized to the former Governor of Delta State over the Postponment of his Hosting initially planned for the former Delta State Governor Chief James Onanefe Ibori, scheduled for February, 2021.

In a press Statement made available to newsmen today in CEPEJ's branch office at Asaba, Delta State capital by the IPDS's Convener, Comrade Chief Sheriff Mulade stated that the reason for the postponement of the event is to comply with the Federal Government’s directives on Covid-19 Protocols, precisely on the avoidance of large gatherings.

The renowned Niger-delta Activist noted that he deeply regrets the inconveniences the announcement of postponement has caused to the former Delta Governor, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, critical stakeholders other intending participants.

In his words: "This painful decision by the organizing committee is done to adhear strictly to the Federal Government’s rules and regulations on COVID-19".

"We were expecting a massive turnout of over twenty thousand sons and daughters of Ijaw Nation and others from Delta State and Niger- Delta to grace the epic occasion in Bomadi town, Bomadi LGA where they have chosen for the event".

"We express regrets over the postponement and inconveniences this must have caused invited guest and the general public who may have tailored their affairs to be at the occasion".

"It is very pertinent that we should be conscious of our health by protecting ourselves and others by staying safe. We assured the people that a new date will be announced soon"
