Comrade Mulade Sheriff, who is the Ibe-Sorimowei of ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South West LGA of Delta State disclosed this to our reporter in a Public private Bill to the State Government at Asaba on 25th of March, 2021, which was made available to Newsmen in his CEPEJ branch office at Asaba, Delta State capital.

He appealed to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to see the importance of the Agency towards the promotion and sustenance of peaceful coexistence and unity among the various ethnic groups and other residents of the State, towards attracting the desired development.

The Public private Bill letter to the Executive Governor of Delta State, Sen. Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa reads in parts: "I equally forwarded a copy of the Bill to the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Chief Sheriff Oborovwori and appealed to his colleagues to give a speedy passage of the Bill seeking to establish the Delta State Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention Agency that will help to promote and sustain the unity and attract development to the State".

"I acknowledged the fact that the State Government's programmes and policies of peacebuilding and conflict resolutions are no doubt, laudable initiatives and efforts by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa aimed at attracting development to the State. The are still some gaps in the efforts at sustaining peaceful coexistence and unity among communities, ethnic groups and other residents of the State".

"I strongly appeal to the Governor, to kindly consider the important proposal for an Agency that will give a sense of belonging to Deltans to enable them benefit from the peace initiatives of his administration that has demonstrated the importance of peaceful coexistence and unity in the State.
