Free Business Development: Delta Youths' YCBBD Training To Enhance Local Skills- Gbandi

German based Development consultant, Program Director/ CEO, African-German Information Centre (AGIC, Germany), Hon. Kenneth Gbandi has said that Youth Capacity Building And the free Business Development Training
(YCBBD), Delta, Nigeria seeks to reduce State's, Nigeria's high youth unemployment rate, which poses an increasing threat to its development and social peace.

Gbandi, the immediate past President, Nigerians in Diasporan Organizations, Continental Europe (NIDOE) made this disclosure to some group of Journalists today in his NGO branch office at Asaba, Delta State capital, stated that the opening ceremony for the Youth development program will take place next week on April 6th, 2021.

Hon. Gbandi while applauding the Leadership of Centre for information Management (CIM), other development partners on the huge success so far towards projects Funding, Youths mobilization, media and publicity Support, he commended the hardwork, commitment and greatest efforts of the Organization's Country Director, Dr. Osita Aniemeke.

The Broadcast, Electronic, Print, new Media guru noted further that the Project intends to enhance local skills through a sustainable transfer of knowledge from German-based experts of Nigerian origin in collaboration with experts in Nigeria to create economic and social prospects for the Nigerian youths.

He said that the training curriculum is designed from the Kolbs experimental learning model, which adopts activities that combine vigorous participation in a classroom with reflective thinking and practical application of skills gained to real-world experience to improve learners' knowledge and competence.

In his words: "Hence, after the workshop, the participants are expected to go for an internship, produce a report and business plan, and get mentored to secure funds for the business plan's execution".

" The objectives of the Training include:• Coaching participants to develop business ideas, write proposals, apply for business funding opportunities, and maintain good relationships with customers".

"Also, Improving participants' knowledge of the use of ICTs in business. It will also help participants identify ICTs tools that are freely available and understand how to use and apply them to their business".

"And Strengthening the agriculture value chain by teaching the participants how to engage in marketing/exports of agricultural products".

"Others are: Providing transferable skills, business motivation, networking, and mentorship to enhance participants' capacity to set up and sustain business enterprises".
