The Paracletan Hope Home, an Orphanage and child Rehabilitation Centre based in Okpanan near Asaba the Delta State Capital, today wears a new and colourful look thanks to the kind donation of Sir Edwin Ogidi-Gbegbaje, Permanent Secretary of the Directorate of Government House and Protocols and his friends.
Sir Edwin, his friends and colleagues had donated the funds for the rehabilitation and refurbishing of the long dilapidated buildings of the Orphanage in 2020 during the celebration of his fifty-sixth birthday.
Sir Edwin raised the funds for the rehabilitation of the buildings by inviting his friends to donate generously for his birthday and then making up the shortfall in the required funds.
The Management of the Paracletan Hope Home today, invited Sir Ogidi-Gbegbaje to a ceremony to celebrate the completion of the project and to thank him and his friends for the kind donation of the huge sum needed to complete the Orphanage Project during their critical time of need. The media was there to cover the event.
Speaking to newsmen after the event, Sir Edwin Ogidi-Gbegbaje expressed joy at the completion of the building rehabilitation project and said that the Orphans and the other children at the Home can now have a more convenient environment and better facilities to live and engage in their studies.

Speaking further, he thanked his friends and well wishers who made donations for his birthday in support of the Orphanage. He prayed that God’s blessings will be with all the donors.

Sir Edwin Ogidi-Gbegbaje serving as the Permanent Secretary, Directorate of Government House and Protocols told Newsmen soon after the memorable event that the building Projects on the rehabilitation of the Paracletan Hope Home, an Orphanage Home in Okpanam, Oshimili North LGA, Delta State was embarked upon in 2020 in commemoration of his 56th Birthday Anniversary which he recently celebrated with Orphans in the state.

He said that the donors to the project are like destiny helpers to the children in the Orphanage by doing the work of their lost father’s and mother’s.

Sir Edwin Ogidi-Gbegbaje prayed to the almighty God to bless his friends and colleagues who joined him to financially support the completion of the building Projects. He said that they are kind-hearted individuals who are benevolent and answered the call of the needy and vulnerable children for the betterment of humanity.

The Paracletan Hope Home Okpanam, before the intervention of Sir Ogidi-Gbegbaje, his friends and kind donors was decrepit and dilapidated and badly needed rehabilitation and urgent refurbishment.

Sir Edwin Ogidi-Gbegbaje is a renowned philanthropist who believes in the advancement of the United Nations 17 SDG goals. He is a donor to many orphanages and also the weak and vulnerable in Delta State.

The Paracletan Orphange Home is administered by Rev. Sister Lauretta Elechukwu. Sister Lauretta is of the Missionary Sisters of the Paraclete and the ORPANAGE is located at Plot 48 Paracletan Crescent, Extention to Core Area, Block 11 Phase VI Asaba.
