Delta @ 30 is a time to celebrate unity in diversity, victory over Covid -19 and development in all sectors.

The Delta State Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria,NYCN Comrade Kenneth Okorie stated this in Asaba while interacting with journalists on the anniversary of the state.

Comrade Okorie said since creation of Delta from August 27,1991 till date, the state has recorded tremendous progress hence the need to roll out the drums to thank God for the milestone despite the teething challenge of ethnic crisis and underdevelopment that confronted the state upon creation.

He thanked both the military administrators and democratically elected governors that have ruled the state in the last 30 years for their contributions to the growth of the state.

He particularly commended Chief James Ibori and Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan for their development efforts in their tenures and also described Late Alex Ibru as a governor that laid solid foundation upon which his successors built on.

Comrade Okorie said the bar of governance in Delta was raised to enviable height in 2015 when Senator Ifeanyi Okowa took over as governor.

He described Senator Okowa as a father of the modern day Delta as a result of his achievements in the area of infrastructural transformation, human capital development and peace building.

He Congratulated residents of the state especially youths on the anniversary celebration and urged them to throw their weight behind the governor in building a stronger Delta where lasting peace and all round development will occupy the centre stage.

To communities where conflicts appears to be rearing its ugly head up,Comrade Okorie told them to embrace dialogue as no meaningful development can surface in a friction ridden environment.

He called on all to continue to work as a team for the overall transformation of the state.
