As the world celebrates the International Youth Day, the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Delta State Chapter has called on all arms of the government to create and implement more policies that would favor the growth of the Youths across the country.

The council through her Media/Publicity Secretary, Comr. Tomi Akporoghene Wojuola, noted that although this years International Youth Day is focusing on Transforming Food Systems through Youth Innovation for Human and Planetary Health, the celebration of the Youth Day would not be complete without highlighting the major way with which this would be achieved, - Policies That Favor Youth Engagements.
The council noted that although the Delta state Government had done amiable well in Youth Development and also in creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, there was still room for more to be done. They further appreciated the Delta state Governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for making the development of youths a priority in his Government.

Citing insecurity in arable farm lands, lack of government sponsored research grants for young graduates, little or no support to support innovation amongst others as factors mitigating against the young Nigerian achieving the much needed breakthrough in Agriculture and Innovation. He noted that if policies are put in place to checkmate the excesses of marauding killer herdsmen who have made farming difficult, scholarly research grants given to intellectually superb youths, among other youth friendly policies, the sky would be the starting point for the Nigerian Youth.

The council commended the Nigerian Youth for her resilience even in the face of unending albeit avoidable challenges. While also commending the states Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Comr. Ifeanyi Egwuyenga for his 'New Thinking' initiatives including the RYSA program, the Council added that his contributions to the betterment of the Youths in the state can not be over emphasized.
